As qualified and experienced classroom teachers, Fledge Tuition NTP tutors recognise the importance of understanding students’ starting points when cultivating potential. We work in partnership with your school as we believe a collaborative approach to embedding learning is key: we view ourselves as an extension of your classroom and your school, working closely together to improve student confidence and assessment outcomes for all of our students.
NTP details for 2023/2024
The National Tutoring Programme will be much easier to use from 2023/24.
Schools will receive an NTP Grant directly from DfE during the academic year.
The NTP Grant value for 2023/24 is based on the total number of students eligible for Pupil Premium at your school. With mainstream schools receiving £67.50 per Pupil Premium student and specialist schools receiving around £176.25 per student.
The grant is expected to cover upto 50% of total tutoring costs. With the balance (at least 50%) coming from core funding, pupil premium funding, or any other appropriate funding source (excluding recovery premium).
Schools should bear in mind that the NTP Grant is capped to a maxmimum average hourly tuition cost per student. The hourly cost cap is:
- £18 for mainstream schools
- £47 for specialist settings
This information can be used to determine an indicative allocation for the academic year 2023-2024. To do this, take the number of pupils eligible for pupil premium in your school this year and multiply it by the relevant funding rate. The Department for Education will release school-level allocations throughout the academic year.
Note: although the NTP Grant is calculated using students eligible for Pupil Premium the grant can be used to support any student at the school.
How it works - Raising Attainment, Reducing Admin
Our process is designed to be as streamlined as possible.
We'll get in touch so we can better understand your situation.
Once you identify the students who need academic assistance and what areas they require help, we will set up a schedule.
Allocate your NTP programme to us through the online NTP platform.
We offer online tuition using our unique platform-based system that is available anywhere with an internet connection. (We can provide laptops and/or internet access if needed).
You pay only for the tuition you use, with no minimum commitment and just a 24 hour cancellation policy.
We provide the reports and paperwork you need to show how you're spending Pupil Premium money.
We will do whatever we can to make the process as straightforward as possible for you, for example, we provide GDPR-compliant consent forms to send to parents, manage and maintain any technology we provide, etc.
About Fledge
We launched Fledge to increase access to high quality tuition and to help close the education attainment gap. We have been working with schools since launching and developed programmes that are sympathetic to the busy school environment whilst delivering fantastic results. In 2020-21 we supported schools in achieving a 400% increase in the number of students reaching end of year goals. But don’t just take our word for it, here’s what one of our recent school clients had to say:
"Fledge has been outstanding in helping support some of our most vulnerable pupils with their learning - especially during the lockdown period. Throughout the programme the learning was well structured and engaging and the tutors incredibly professional. Communication with the school and individual families have been excellent and concerns and issues followed up promptly. I would highly recommend Fledge to any prospective school”
